Notre Dame FCU Launches New National Fundraising Program

Posted on Mar 27, 2015

Notre Dame, IN – Notre Dame Federal Credit Union ( Notre Dame FCU) announced today the launch of a new, nationwide fundraising program that will initially assist Catholic parishes and schools raise money for their much-needed programs and services.

The ElevateTM program rewards individuals who select eligible Notre Dame FCU financial products by donating a percentage of their loan amount directly to their parish or school.

In response to Pope Francis’ call for new forms of economic cooperatives, Notre Dame FCU President and CEO Tom Gryp said that Notre Dame FCU will apply this idea of cooperation to support the mission of Catholic parishes and schools. “We know that finances for Catholic parishes and schools are tight, and this exciting new concept taps into the cooperative spirit of credit unions to raise money for a myriad of worthy initiatives nationwide.”

It is projected that in just one year, an enrolled parish or school could generate significant contributions simply by encouraging parishioners to use the Elevate™ program for their financial needs. Financial products eligible through the Elevate™ program include vehicle loans, credit cards, and student loans. Parish and school capital project loans and member business loans are also eligible for benefits through the Elevate™ program.

For example, if a family buys or refinances a vehicle for $20,000 via a loan through the Elevate™ program, Notre Dame FCU will make a $275 donation to the sponsoring parish or school.

Gryp said it is initiatives like the Elevate™ program that illustrate Notre Dame FCU’s commitment to giving back to its members. “We hold the same values and beliefs as our members, and our mission of service is rooted in empowering our members with tools that give them the power to enrich their lives.”

Gryp also said the program won’t be limited to Catholic entities. “Eventually, we will open up the Elevate™ program to any organization affiliated with Notre Dame FCU looking for a meaningful fundraising opportunity.”
